The Future of Gaming, Virtual Worlds and Total Immersion
The word game limits creativity. We all will be walking in 3d space some day, in different environments, jumping from one environment to another through portals, maybe with their own laws of physics;). This is the future of the Internet.
In these worlds, you may do shopping, checking out products, you may play table tennis, water ski, walk the mountain, ride a bicycle, drive a car, frag friends, etc.
With free content databases and free software engines, you're pretty much home free, easily constructing new worlds for people to explore.
Short and consice, a hybrid of all the games out there. It would not be a game in and of itself; it would be an environment; a mapped world with physics and the possibility to do whatever you want.
It's great idea with combining the styles, it can go very far just an environment you can do anything in.
I've been modeling the glen I live in for several years. This is a world where you can do just about anything
There are teleports, so one can visit a friends world, each with it's own laws of physics.
You could go skiing, maybe shoot things in the sky, bath, drive cars or boats you just have an environment to play whatever you like people would make mad worlds and invite people you could maybe have an object system to bring things into other worlds.
Thousands of objects; cars, bikes, guns, etc. All this is possible because we only use freely licensed objects; that means you can design an object and define its properties, then bring it into the world. When you do that, a request is sent to the world owner, asking for a permission to bring this object into the world. The same applies if you walk through a teleport to another world. You have to declare all your objects in your backpack.
All interactive objects will have a little handle; when you point on it; you can
perfom several actions: (think Maniac Mansion)
Push, Pull, Give, Open, Close, Read, Pick Up, Whatis, Lock, UnLock, Use, Turn On,
Turn Off, Fix, Smoke, Sit
A future possible idea is that actions are relevant and works like a pie menu; f.ex
when you pick something up, you get a new set of actions to perform on it.
FAQ: How can I survive a direct hit from an RPG? You can turn your back to it. The
RS783 backpack contains a steel frame that protects you well.
I need more ammo. Where can I find? You can break in at the Hageland Company down
at 32nd street; they have lots of nice things. There is also a very large military
supply center in Castle Beauty if you're able to get to it.
I give up; I can't break into Castle Beauty. What can I do? Aquire more training;
you will need very good skills and probably a team to accompany you. Many will die,
but it should be possible to atleast penetrate the outer marker.
I want to go skiing. Any nice places with lifts back up? Yes, there is a nice ski
resort on Lo/vstakken. Just follow the path along side Castle Beauty.
I need to smoke some fat bags of weed and maybe lit a fire. Any place for some
peace and quiet? The further away from Castle Beauty you get, the more peace and
quiet you'll find, most probably. There is a nice camping area, but it's sadly
frequently attacked.
I need some blue shoes to go with my grey socks. Any nice place to get a pair of
nickers? Check out oasen; they have the usual mall crap.
