There are currently no 1394 mice on the market, which is a real shame. 1394 is important because of its timing properties. USB offers no guarantee when data will arrive and it's sad we are stuck with this technology for now.

We're stuck with USB, but:

Get a 2000DPI mouse.

Set the USB Polling to 1kHz/1ms (nrpacks=1)
