Media Server

Using a server, like Verse for global GNU Audio is a very good idea. These pages will track such development.

Scenario:

You hear something nice playing on your system. You tell timemachine to save the last 3 minutes into a verse server. You then launch freecycle and select the sample from the verse server. You then find its looppoints and save the new data. For further manipulation you startup Snd and again manipulate the sample on the server.

Then you could use pvoc to do some timestretching on the sample.

From there on, you could launch SuperCollider and maybe bind it to MIDI/OSC.

There are of course thousands of ways you could extend this, but the idea is clear. It's so much easier than to load the sample into each of the applications.
